Westgate Chinese New Year

CASE #3

Content type: Professional

Client: Central Pattana

The Chinese New Year Celebration at Central Westgate was one of the largest events Central held in 2025. The task was to creatively recap the event and showcase highlights.

The Brief

We discussed the client's goals and expectations for the project which set up the guidelines for what was needed.

Keep Audiences Engaged

The client wanted to explore the event recap creatively to keep audiences engaged. The story that the recap tells should keep the viewers interested.

Capture Highlights

The content should capture the best moments and scale of the event. The highlights should come together to tell an engaging story.

Concept

The scale of Chinese New Year celebrations becomes larger every year in Bangkok. Central was embarking on one of its most ambitious celebrations this year. The event brought special lion-dancing performances to the mall, auspicious items to worship, and special guests from the Che Kung Temple of Hong Kong to bless the new year (source).

The event recap needed to capture the different parts that made the event so big this year. However, it also needed to be engaging to watch and tell a story of how the event went. With this in mind, the concept was to bridge the three different snippets of the event together and guide the audience through 5 hours of celebration in under 3 minutes.

The Process

Shot List & Filming

Plans for insert shots and which highlight moments needed were made. The rest were about capturing the event as it happened.

Editing

Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I grouped footage to tell the highlight story in distinct bits that came together and binded together by the music.

Coloring

Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I colored the ungraded S-LOG3 footage captured on the Sony A6400 to bring up the contrast, color, and vibrancy.
